We are getting ready for the testing season. My kiddos have
so many too many tests for their little 8 year-old brains. We have our County Benchmark coming up that they say is for school purposes only, but always manage to pit us up against the
Best schools in the county. My littles do not have the same schema as the other children, but we preserver! I have to build their schema on top of everything else on the curriculum map!
After we finish Benchmarks we have the Georgia Milestone Blitz and test online this year. We round the corner to the finish line with a SLO - Student Learning Objective test. For third graders, they take a Reading, Math and Science tests. I teach Math and Science so we will be teaching all the way up to the last three days of school!!!
We are so busy in Science I thought I would share a few more of my units.
This
HEAT UNIT was a lot of fun in the classroom. We made mini smores with toothpicks and marshmallows, teddy grahams and chocolate! They
adored that day!!! I have put the science experiments in the unit and also listed them separately.
The
unit on rocks was a lot more in depth than I originally thought it would be. I found a few edible science experiments and included them in the unit! You have to engage the learner somehow, so why not through food!!!
Our
unit on soil was very hands on. I had gathered soils samples, sand and clay from all over. We made stations around the room and really explored the different types of soil!
So
check them out for your self at TpT. I have lots of pics and so far the reviews have been great!!
Happy Science Teaching and here is hoping for the best with all of the upcoming tests!
